Ulfrik
Ulfrik; Son of Theor, Son of Frigga, Brother to Theoval
Born high on the plains of Rohan to Theor and Frigga, Ulfric is a strapping lad of 25 summers. From the beginning Ulfric had an affinity with animals, both the families wolf hounds that helped guard their heard of horses, and the horses themselves. It is for this reason, when he was in his third summer, that his father bestowed upon him the name of Ulfric, or "Wolf King" in Rohirrim.
Growing up his father, Theor taught him the ways of the land, both the plains and the forests bordering it. Showing him how to hunt, trap, and how to track and read the signs of the land, but most of all, how to look for Orc sign, the constant scourge of all Middle Earth. This all came to an end in his sixteenth summer, when an orc raid lead by the infamous Gorbad The Salughterer, claimed the life of his father Theor, as well as Ulfriks betrothed, Dagian, a bonnie lass with hair the color of golden straw. Beside his fathers body they found his broken sword, a family heirloom, the blade still intact and sharp as ever, the hilt and cross guard broken. This incident along with his fathers lessons instilled Ulfrik with a sense of responsibility and justice, feeling a need to help protect both the people and the land of Rohan from any threats that could arise, and to avenge his father.
With this mindset Ulfrik took his fathers sword to his uncle Aethalsted, the local smithy, and over the course of the winter, they repaired his fathers sword, giving it a new hilt, sculpted into the form of a snarling wolf head, the blade extending from its mouth. This reforged family heirloom handed down from his great great grand-sire, he fittingly named Fang. Thus prepared, with the sowrd, and a shock of Dagians' golden hair in a locket, Ulfric left the running of the family lands, the horse herd and the care of his mother Frigga to his brother Theoval, his elder by 3 seasons, and he started riding out on his self appointed patrols. These rides kept taking him further and further from the family lands, guarding Rohan and cleansing it of evil. Now 9 summers later, he roams the entire realm of Rohan, seldom seeing his family or returning home as he lives off the land, punishing any who seek to harm it or its people. To him this is not just a task, but a calling, as Ulfrik does not like the evils of the word, things like thieves, murderers, wargs, and the spiders that haunt the woodlands..... But orcs, he hates more. This has given him a burning desire to visit midery apon that vile race any chance he gets, especially against the leader of the raid that killed his father, Gorbad The Salughterer.
This back and forth hunt between Gorbad The Salughterer and Ulfrik has been ongoing for almost a decade. Ulfrik adopting a method from his most hated enemy to ensure the Orc knows it was him that has killed some of his Ocs. Each time he kills some he raises one of them on a make shift St. Andrews Cross, leaving its body displayed for all to see with the Rohirrim rune for wolf marked upon its chest. In this way each makes sure the other knows it was them that raided a village or destroyed a band of Orcs, the enmity between them rising with each act.
