Breachill

Timeline: Approximately two years after the Age of Ashes campaign, in the same continuity.

Overview

Breachill is a town of roughly 1,300 people in eastern Isger, near the foothills of the Five King Mountains and about fifty miles from the Druman border. It remains the region’s central hub for adventurers and the main point of contact between the Scorchtail kobolds and other communities.

History

Breachill was founded nearly 170 years ago by human amnesiacs who established an outpost with the aid of the wizard Lamond Breachton. The town developed a reputation for welcoming travelers and hiring adventurers to deal with dangers beyond its borders.

The events of Age of Ashes brought fire, conflict with the Scarlet Triad, and renewed attention to the ancient gates. Two years later, most visible damage has been repaired. New craftspeople and merchants have arrived during the recovery, but the gates and the deeds of the campaign’s heroes remain part of living memory.

The Scorchtail Connection

Vyrra’s Nest lies about half a day from Breachill on foot. The Scorchtails’ tunneling, crafting, and alchemical skills have made them useful partners in reconstruction and regional trade. Their allegiance to Vyrra, a black dragon, remains politically sensitive.

Pib and Zarf reside in Breachill as the clan’s liaisons. They negotiate trade disputes, arrange supplies, carry messages, and help residents communicate with the Nest. Their position places them between townsfolk who accept the kobolds as neighbors and residents who remain suspicious of Vyrra’s influence.

Regional Connections

The caravan trail continues from Vyrra’s Nest toward Kyrecliff Roost, roughly another day away. Breachill merchants trade indirectly with the tengu, but raids and disputes between Kyrecliff and the Scorchtails sometimes interrupt the route.
