Help:Contributing

From Games Day

Keep new pages inside the campaign they belong to. Start at Campaigns and open the right campaign before adding a character, location, or session.

Page names

Use descriptive titles such as Archimedes IV/Characters/Character Name or Lower Decks/Missions/Mission Title. Link the new page from that campaign’s section index.

Start a page

Copy one of the examples below, replacing the campaign, section, and name. The navigation template keeps the page within its campaign.

Character

{{Archimedes IV navigation}}
== Character Name ==
One or two sentences introducing the character.
* Role:
* Affiliation:
== Background ==
== Current situation ==
== Related people and places ==
[[Category:Archimedes IV]]
[[Category:Archimedes IV/Characters]]

Location

Include a short overview, the people found there, notable places or services, and links to relevant session records. Add it to the campaign’s Locations index.

Session record

{{Archimedes IV navigation}}
== Session title ==

* In-world date:

Images and formatting

Use normal paragraphs for stories. A leading space makes a line preformatted, which is useful for aligned statistics but harder to read for biographies. Use MediaWiki headings and apostrophes for emphasis, rather than Markdown fences or double asterisks.

Shared places and timelines

Breachill appears in both Age of Ashes and the later Vyrra’s Nest campaign. Update the appropriate timeline’s page and keep its campaign navigation. Mark rumors, personal accounts, and in-world newspaper reports as such.

Before saving

Use Show preview, check the links, and describe your change in the edit summary. GM-only information requires verified access controls; a heading does not restrict who can read a page.
