Imperial Personnel file: Omega Inquisitus 269A

Name: Naltherion Kane
Alias: The Blackhand of the Emperor
Born: 933 M41
Location: Armageddon
Current Ordo: Xenos
Born on the hive world of Armageddon in the year 933 M41, Naltherion was 8 years old at the start of The Second War for Armageddon (941 M41). This would have a profound impact on his life, as seeing the stark brutality of the Ork Waaaghh only served to reinforce his holy emperor’s edict of suffer not the alien to live.
After being saved from being swept up in an Ork wave attack being stood off by stalwart members of the Salamanders space marine chapter, Naltherion made his way back to a refugee camp for displaced citizens, where millions saught refuge. It is here that Naltherion determined to be a force against the endless waves of aliens threatening the imperium.
This was easy to do as the inquisition had many agents within the refugee camps rooting out any sympathizers or heretics. It was then that he met a low level inquisitor named Mordekai Gromph. This is when his life changed as after making himself useful to the inquisitor, when he departed the world, he took Naltherion with him, indoctrinating him into the ways of the inquisition and making him his apprentice. Even having him go through intensive gene splicing and chemical treatments to open the latent psychic abilities in his mind to be of even more use to the imperium.
58 years later, and Naltherion is now his own Inquisitor, with his own contacts and networks. As a member of the Ordo Xenos, the situation on Archimedes IV has caught his attention. Xenos tolerated? Traded with? Given free roam of a city? (Albeit monitored). This is the exact danger that he has spent his life preparing to face and thwart.

Imperial Records of Natherion Kane

In his early career, Natherion was assigned to Achemedes IV where he uncovered a gene stealer cult plotting to harvest the bio material of the planet for the Tyranids. After tracking the cult to their hide out, Natherion and his party descended into the forgotten bowels of the planet. Here Natherion met the enemies of mankind face to face as he engaged with a pure bred genestealer. Unable to finish the blasphemous beast with a well place bolter shot, Natherion was forced into hand to hand with the monstrosity. Here the enemy was in its element, ripping and shredding him with its claws. That day Naltherion lost his left arm below the elbow as he lifted it in a futile effort to ward off the blow that ruined the upper right quarter of his head and face. The one thing the best did not count on though was Natherions iron will and unshakable devotion to the emperor, as with his fading strength he reached up forcing his hand into the open bolter wound on the side of the stealers head he had made earlier, and launched a devistating mental attack, cracking the things carapace and head in its final moments. It is from this battle that Natherion gained his Signature black cybernetic left hand, and the black skull plate that covers the right side of his face from above the ear around to his nose with his glowering baleful red cybernetic eye. From this day on His enemies called him the Blackhand of the Emperor.
Little did Naltherion know the genestealer cult he helped purge, was simply the beginning of the corruption he would uncover on Archimedes IV. As per standard inquisitorial practice, after an encounter with corruption as filthy as the genestealers, Naltherion and his companions were placed in isolated observation to rule out any corruption. Little did they know this standard procedure would uncover yet more corruption and betrayal, as a newly appointed inquisitor named Draxus Valman who was secretly jealous of Naltherions early successes used this quarantine time to imprison the group. This would allow Draxus to supplant Naltherion as the local inquisitor on Archimedes IV. This would allow him to hide the illegal experiments he was conducting on Imperial psykers to develop serums to control them, which, along with his illegal weapons trade, he could then sell on the black market to line his own pockets with wealth to increase his fame and prestige. Fortunately, not all in the organization were as corrupt as Naltherion was able to convince a guard, Dellark Krandis to work with him, giving him the key card to his cell and a data pad with the information he needed to find the records of the rogue inquisitors' betrayal of the Imperium. This he found and transmitted to his superior, Inquisitor Lyra Sylas. Unfortunately, Draxus was not the kind to surrender, and once Naltherion and his companions escaped their cells and rearmed themselves, they had to put him down, ending his threat. It is from this encounter that Naltherion obtained his signature Force hammer, which doubles as his gavel when he sits in judgment over heretics. This hammer he has christened "Malice".
