The ruins of Lethrain
The sigil of Lethrain

Type: Fallen kingdom

Capital: Itharil

Last crowned ruler: Borlan Thornfall II

History: Lethrain was founded around the middle of the Second Age when Borlan I united the region’s nomadic clans. Its peaceful communities prospered for generations. After S.A. 1700, Borlan Thornfall II accepted one of the Nine Rings from Sauron. His corruption and eventual transformation into a Nazgûl shattered the ruling house and began the kingdom’s long decline. Communities survived among the ruins throughout much of the Third Age, but the last inhabitants of Itharil fled during the War of the Ring.

Notable events:

Legacy: Lethrain survives in ruins, scattered records, and the memory of its rangers. Darethor Thornfall, the last known heir of its ruling house, carries both its name and the shadow of Borlan II’s Ring.
