Description

This iconic two-story inn, built from sturdy timber and stone, is instantly recognizable by its hand-carved wyvern signpost. The building’s weathered exterior tells a tale of enduring service, while its glowing lanterns offer a beacon of warmth on Felswald’s colder nights.

Inside, the inn exudes a cozy yet lively atmosphere. A grand stone hearth crackles at the far end of the main room, casting a comforting glow over wooden tables and benches. Many of these bear the carved initials of patrons, adding a personal touch to the rustic decor. The walls are adorned with faded tapestries and an assortment of relics from past visitors, including foreign coins and broken blades, each with its own untold story.

History

Founded over a century ago by Osric Wylde, a retired adventurer, The Winding Wyvern began as a modest alehouse catering to local farmers and merchants. Osric’s captivating stories of daring exploits soon attracted visitors from far and wide, prompting expansions that included guest rooms and the now-famous wyvern carving.

Legends claim the wyvern was modeled after a creature Osric vanquished in his youth, adding an air of mystery to the inn’s heritage. Over the years, The Winding Wyvern has weathered fires, bandit raids, and even a siege during a local feud, solidifying its reputation as a resilient and steadfast establishment.
