Welcome to the starship registry for the campaign Star Trek: Those Old Scientists. This archive details the various vessels commissioned or assigned under the Secondary Protocol Initiative—a Starfleet operation enacted in the early 2270s to address overlooked missions, neglected sectors, and the growing complexities of Federation diplomacy.

== Purpose of the Initiative == With the Federation expanding rapidly and frontline starships overtaxed by logistical and diplomatic tasks, Starfleet launched the GGY-900 “Antares-class” retrofit project. These former cargo vessels have been hastily but effectively converted into support craft for follow-up contact, cultural liaison, treaty enforcement, and experimental operations in regions unsuited to Constitution-class deployment.

Operational Notes

All ships in this line are designated as part of the Secondary Line, not the Primary Exploration or Combat divisions. Each vessel is equipped with modular lab and crew spaces, scaled-down tactical systems, and experimental support tech such as prototype holodecks. Hull numbers range from NCC-24040 to NCC-24099. Ships are named after notable scientists, cultural figures, and historians from various Federation member worlds.

USS Thelin (NCC-24042) – A retrofitted Antares-class freighter and current primary setting. Commanded by Lt. Cmdr. Singh Vikram.
