Born high on the plains of Rohan to Theor and Frigga, Ulfric is a strapping lad of 25 summers. From the beginning Ulfric had an affinity with animals, both the families wolf hounds that helped guard their heard of horses, and the horses themselves. It is for this reason, when he was in his third summer, that his father bestowed upon him the name of Ulfric, or "Wolf King" in Rohirrim.

Growing up his father, Theor taught him the ways of the land, both the plains and the forests bordering it. Showing him how to hunt, trap, and how to track and read the signs of the land, but most of all, how to look for Orc sign, the constant scourge of all Middle Earth. This all came to an end in his sixteenth summer, when an orc raid in the area, claimed the life of Theor before a passing Rohirrim patrol was able to quell the raid. Beside his body they found his broken sword, a family heirloom. The blade still intact and sharp as ever, the hilt and cross guard broken. This incident along with his fathers lessons instilled Ulfrik with a sense of responsibility and justice, feeling a need to help protect both the people and the land of Rohan from any threats that could arise, and to avenge his father.

With this mindset Ulfrik took his fathers sword to his uncle Aethalsted, the local smithy, and over the course of the winter, they repaired his fathers sword, giving it a new hilt, sculpted into the form of a snarling wolf head, the blade extending from its mouth. This reforged family heirloom, he fittingly named Fang. Thus prepared, it was then that Ulfric left the running of the family lands, the horse herd and the care of his mother Frigga to his brother Theoval, his elder by 3 seasons, and he started riding out on his self appointed patrols. These rides kept taking him further and further from the family lands, guarding Rohan and cleansing it of evil. Now 9 summers later, he roams the entire realm of Rohan, seldom seeing his family or returning home as he lives off the land, punishing any who seek to harm it or its people. To his this is not an just a task, but a calling, as Ulfrik does not like the evils of the word, things like thieves, murderers, wargs, and the spiders that haunt the woodlands..... But orcs, he hates more, and has a burning desire within for vengeance for his father, one that will never be quenched.

Ulfrik
Ulfrik
Son of Theor and Frigga; brother of Theoval

Born high on the plains of Rohan to Theor and Frigga, Ulfrik is a strapping man of twenty-five summers. From the beginning, he had an affinity with animals, including the family’s wolfhounds and the horses they guarded. When he was three summers old, his father gave him an old Rohirric name rendered as “Wolf King” in the Common Speech.

As Ulfrik grew, Theor taught him the ways of the plains and the bordering forests: how to hunt, trap, track, and read the signs of the land, especially the signs of Orcs. This life ended in Ulfrik’s sixteenth summer, when a raid led by Gorbad the Slaughterer claimed the lives of Theor and Ulfrik’s betrothed, Dagian, a young woman with hair the color of golden straw. Beside his father’s body lay the family’s broken sword. Its blade remained intact and sharp, but its hilt and crossguard were shattered. His loss and his father’s lessons instilled in Ulfrik a fierce responsibility to protect Rohan and avenge the dead.

Ulfrik took the sword to his uncle Aethalsted, the local smith. Over the winter they repaired it, fitting a new hilt shaped like a snarling wolf’s head with the blade extending from its mouth. Ulfrik named the reforged heirloom Fang. Carrying the sword and wearing Dagian’s ring on a chain around his neck, he left the family lands, horse herd, and care of Frigga to his brother Theoval, his elder by three seasons.

Nine summers later, Ulfrik patrols the breadth of the Mark. He seldom sees his family and lives from the land while hunting thieves, murderers, Wargs, spiders, and other threats. He hates Orcs above all, especially Gorbad. Their hunt has continued for almost a decade. When Ulfrik destroys one of Gorbad’s bands, he leaves an Orc corpse on an X-shaped wooden frame with the Rohirric rune for wolf cut into its chest. Gorbad answers with signs of his own, and the enmity between them deepens with every raid.

While tracking Gorbad’s warband through the plains, Ulfrik encountered Darethor Thornfall, a ranger following a separate Orc party into the Mark. The two bands converged and formed a larger threat. Ulfrik and Darethor therefore joined forces and began tracking the united warband across Rohan.
