Varrag Frostaxe is a gold dwarf of Clan Frostaxe. One of the many clans of dwarves residing in the great Dwarven capital of Underholm. Varrag is a large, powerfully built dwarf, standing 4’10” and weighing 12.5 stones (175 pounds). He has a long platinum blonde/white beard and long hair, with the long hair to match that is just starting to recede in a widow's peak. With Underholm becoming more and more crowded since the thunder blessing, his father, and head of Clan Frostaxe, Agnar Frostaxe, has tasked Varrag with leaving the city and building his fortune while he, as the clan Thane, stayed to look after the clans interests in the city. This was 15 years ago, and since that time, as per his father’s instructions, Varrag has been adventuring and even entering the Polycism games, building his fortune. This fortune, as per his father’s plans, will be used to help reclaim the lost dwarven fortress of Axeholm for Clan Frostaxe. Allowing the clan to relocate from the overcrowded city of Underholm and form their own home and halls in Axeholm. Here they will be able to forge their own fortunes by transforming the fortress into a fully functioning citadel. To accomplish this they will renovate the original fortress, restoring it, as well as delving down below the fortress expanding it deep down into the earth. There they will build their clans halls beneath the fortress, a dwarven city in its own rights, complete shops, forges and mines to take advantage of a natural resources in these mountains, gems, ores, and most valuable of all; mithril. Like many dwarven berserkers, Varrag is a follower of Hanseath, the dwarven god of carousing, brewing, singing, and war. As such, he never passes up an opportunity to feast and drink, especially in celebration of a victorious battle. Indeed, even while adventuring or in the midst of a Polycism game, it is not unusual for him to pull out a skin for a nice long pull of his favorite ale, Oakencask Stout. This tendency is only compounded when ever he rides into town on his giant boar mount named "Grudgebearer". At these times he can most often be found in the local tavern downing pint after pint as he feasts on red meat off the bone, devouring whole venison legs in a meal. When not feasting while in the tavern, he can often be found sitting by its hearth, enjoying a smoke of pipe weed from his church warden pipe, the bowl of which is carved in runes of Berronar Trueselver, the dwarven goddess of home and hearth, all the while singing in honor of Hanseath. Do not let this lighter side of feasting, drinking, and smoking fool you, though, for Varrag is a dwarf, through and through, with the temper and the ability to hold a grudge as ingrained in him as any other dwarf. Insult, cheat, or betray him at your own risk. Many are the sad travelers that did not understand this and insulted either him or the dwarven race, only to find themselves waking up some time later out of the tavern, in the mud of the streets, with teeth missing and jaws broken.
